Are you looking to develop in your leadership role?

We have designed a new leadership programme specifically for intensive care. By drawing on a wealth of experience from executive and senior leaders across the NHS and wider industry we have built fourteen modules to nurture and enhance ICU leaders.

We are offering 15 fully funded places for members of the Society to support you to develop your leadership skills to help staff to thrive and enhance your knowledge and understanding of collaborative and multi-professional working.


Modules

  • Leading successful and sustainable projects for quality improvement
  • NHS infrastructure and how the NHS works NHS values, culture and behaviours
  • Development of self as leader
  • Emotional intelligence: Understanding self to understand others
  • NHS funding and the development of successful business cases
  • Understanding the role of managers and how they can help
  • Development of national strategy
  • Building team effectiveness
  • Managing difficult conversations and getting the best out of people
  • Presentation of Quality Improvement Project posters

 

Who is eligible
We welcome applications from Society members with a range of diverse personal and professional experience and backgrounds to apply.  We have been working with our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group to help us to access as wide a range of experienced intensive care society members as possible. 

Key Dates

  • 31 January 2022 - Applications close at 10am
  • 4 February 2022 -   Successful candidates informed
  • April - November 2022 - Programme will be a blend of virtual and face-to-face learning
  • 28 June - 1 July 2022 - Pre Congress work shop and three days at SOA22 Congress in Belfast

Cost
The cost of this course is free to the delegate/employer.

The Society with support from CHSA, will fully fund the costs below:

  • £7,500 - leadership cost
  • £450 - Full State of the Art Congress ticket

Successful applicants will have to self fund any travel costs.
